Australian Cobberdogs

Cobber by name cobber by nature

In Australia we use the word Cobber when referring to a friend, mate, buddy, BFF, pal or companion. It only stands to reason then that the founder of the Australian Cobberdog aptly named the breed owing to its inherent people focused traits. They are indeed, mans best cobber. The Australian Cobberdog has been recognised by the Master Dog Breeders and Associates (MDBA) as a Purebreed In Development since 2012 however, the creation of the breed dates back decades. The Australian Cobberdog is highly intelligent, trainable, emotionally intuitive, gentle natured and excels in many roles such as therapy, emotional support, wellbeing, Service and Assistance Dogs and companion pets. They are allergy friendly with lovely soft coats which are both low/no shedding and low/no odour. Cobberdogs come in a range of colours including Black, Brown, Raven, Café, Parchment, Gold, White, Blonde, Red, Merle (Chocolate & Blue), Parti (coloured with white patches) and Pie (predominantly white with patches of any other colour). Coat types should be singular (i.e. no undercoat) and either straight or wavy. In accordance with the breed standard, curly coats are deemed undesirable. Sizes: Being a breed in development and the quirks of genetics, at this point in the breeds developement, the sizes can be inconsistent. Based on the parents and their lineage, an informed 'best estimate' can be provided in regards to the pups expected adult size, but even the most experienced breeder cannot accurately predict the size a puppy will grow to. There may even be significant size differences within the same litter. The current Cobberdog Breed size brackets as set down by the Master Dog Breeders and Associates (MDBA) are:
Miniature:
Over 33 cm and No Taller than 42 cm

Medium:
Over 42 cm and No Taller than 51 cm

Standard:
Over 51 cm and No Taller than 61 cm Charming Meka only breed Standard sized Cobberdogs. **************************************************** Learn about us by clicking here Meet our Cobberdogs here Or contact us here
