Karen Charles, dog lover

We are a small, home based breeder of the standard-sized Australian Cobberdog having only one or two litters per year.

We are located in Muruben, South-East Queensland 4125 midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We endeavor to produce healthy offspring with the use of Hip/Elbow scoring and genetic disease testing of all our breeding dogs. This way, we ensure we are giving our puppies the very best start to a long lived healthy life. We live in a mixed dog household, having worked in rescue and adopting rescue dogs prior to venturing into breeding this amazing companion animal. All our dogs sleep inside, enjoy over an acre of yard space and a large inground pool in addition to a dog-specific lap pool of their own for the warmer months. The enjoy their own adventure playground to challenge thier minds and bodies, grow confidence and experience with new sensory inputs, textures, gradients and movement. We have a purpose built temperature controlled whelping room and following the recommended puppy curriculum of Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) at the appropriate age milestones. Pups will be crate acclimated and sound desentised. They will have experienced grooming and be proficient in the use of a dog door. Be comfortable walking loosley on a leash. Our puppies will have their basic education commenced prior to leaving for their new homes at 10 weeks of age. Basic commands being taught in both verbal and sign language. They will be temperament tested at 7 weeks of age utilising the Volhard's Temperament Test, ensuring each pup is placed with a family that best compliments their developing personalities, strengths and potential future roles within the family unit. They will be wormed every fortnight from the age of 2 weeks, will receive a veterinary check and health clearance complete with a comprehensive Health Assessment Report, be microchipped and vaccinated appropriate for their age. Your puppy will come with a puppy pack which includes, access to an extensive puppy guide, 1 months free pet insurance with Knose Pet Insurance with no waiting periods for accident and illness. Should you decide to continue the Knose policy, the 2nd month will also be free of charge. Your puppy also comes with a puppy collar and matching lead and the purchase price also includes desexing at a vet of your choosing when the pup reaches 12 months of age. The microchip ownership transfer fees are also included. Registration with the Master Dog Breeder & Associates (MDBA) on the limited register and the puppy's Pedigree Certificate as issued by the MDBA is also included. In accordance with the Charming Meka Contract of Sale, the puppy's pedigree certificate is mailed to you, once desexing has occured. Your puppy will have been well socialised with our resident dogs of different ages, genders, breeds, colours, temperaments and disabilities: one of my rescue dogs is both physically (tri-pawed) and sensory disabled (deaf). Our pups are fed a multifacted diet: Raw (meat, offal and appropriately sized brisket bones), Dry (premium quality nutritionally complete kibble), Fresh (fruit and vegetables), Dairy (greek yoghurt and goats milk), Eggs, Sardines and whitefish. Treats (only natural: bullysticks, paddywack, dried sardines, chicken feet and pig snouts) We provide after-adoption support for the life of your pet. As an ethical breeder, we also guarantee to take the dog back at any stage of its life should you become incapable of caring for it.
